The idea behind this tee was to create an Intellectual - simple/clean - urban style design. The t-shirt has a premium fit that gives off a look that is tailor made. The concept behind the tee is meant to stir up a conversation about its meaning. Vogink is known for creating designs that center around wise sayings & proverbs. And we think the new Wood Hay & Stubble design fits beautifully into the concept. This popular term was coined in the bible from 1 Corinthians 3:12-15. Wood Hay & Stubble represents the validity/weight of our actions in life & whether the things we do in this life will yield us a greater eternal reward. This design is meant to be a daily reminder to focus on timeless principals & to wear it proudly with style.
We’re excited & honored about our recent spotlight interview with blog&buysale for the month of April. I can’t begin to tell you the countless times I’ve been approached by someone asking me to join this business or sign up for that business etc. They seem to have this way of making you feel like their business/product is the next hot thing that’s getting ready to hit the market, and if you don’t jump on board now you’re going to miss out on making a boat load of money. I in no way doubt their conviction for the business their trying to propagate to me at the moment. But I often wonder what the main driving force behind why there in that business. I am usually polite & make every attempt to listen to what they have to say to me but I’m usually listening for other things while the person is talking. I have always been a strong advocate on words. To me words truly reveal how a person thinks & more importantly what goes on in their heart. For example typically when I’m approached by an individual like this it’s usually for some type of network marketing program. (I want to add a footnote by saying I am not speaking negatively against network marketing. I have a lot of good friends who do quite well in those organizations) They usually say things like “you can make X amount of money in a month”, or “you can buy that dream car you’ve always wanted” or my personal favorite is “hey this may not be your dream, but it will allow you to get to your dream”. And then for some reason the sales pitch always seems to end with “hey once you’re financially free you can spend all the quality time you want with your family.
Now I am in no way against making a lot of money driving a nice car or spending quality time with your family. But what often concerns me is I never hear the person passion for the thing they are trying to sale me. Money is just the byproduct of a business. If all you’re doing is talking about how much money you’re going to make then that is you’re driving force for doing the business. The problem with working with these types of people is that they can always be lured away by some other cutting edge new business that will promise a newer & better way to make money. Generally people with this type of thinking bounce around or even quit when times get tough because during those times money is not enough to keep you motivated. What I have learned is you tend to stick with something you have passion for because it was never about the money in the first place. I do realize if a person has a passion for something that they turned into a business want to make money. The difference is they normally have a better success rate because building a business will take time & a whole lot of effort. And in most cases the money is not rolling in during those early days but passion for what you do is what keeps a person committed to see things through to the end. When you think about this principal it can be applied to any situation in life. For example if you’re rich & someone just marry you for your money & has no love or passion for you. They normally will not stick around when times get tough or you lose your money.
When I started Vogink it was never about just making money. Trust there many more ways to make money faster than the clothing business. I started it because I truly have a passion for design/fashion. I get excited at the thought of designing a new t-shirt, poster, bag etc. I enjoy the process of being creative & letting my personality shine through the products I create. Sure I want to make money but it’s not the driving force. I encourage everyone to find that thing in life that truly excite you & figure a way to make a living from it & then the money will seem like an added bonus to your life….Well until next time stay mentally fresh!

If you have been reading my blogs lately, you know by now that I am a person who believes your daily habits sets the tone in the way you live your life. For example: If you are a generous person with money when you’re broke, then you will be a generous person with money when you’re rich. I truly believe circumstances don’t change a person it only magnifies who you really are. So the question of the day is do you have fashion or style? I think the best way to start is first off defining the meaning of both words. Webster’s dictionary defines the following
Fashion: a popular way of dressing during a particular time or among a particular group of people
Style: the quality that makes things attractive, fashionable, etc.
I want to start off by saying I am not judging the way a person chooses to dress. My goal is to simply point out the distinct difference of the two & each individual can honestly assess which category they fall into. Have you ever had those moments where you are flipping through a photo album & looking at some old pictures & notice you or someone else wearing a piece of clothing you wouldn’t be caught dead in wearing today? I am definitely one of those people the point is there is nothing wrong with changing with the times. The question is how do you change with time? If you are a person who loves to wear the latest trend of clothing that comes out then it’s likely you are into fashion. You will probably buy a t-shirt that cost $80.00 because everybody else is wearing it even if it doesn’t look good on you. You might even feel a little proud of yourself because you paid more than the average person for a certain fashion piece. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with paying for an expensive piece of clothing, trust I am definitely a person who loves quality. But just to pay for it because you can & it’s the latest trendy thing out is a sign you are a person who is into fashion. If you find it hard to wear something that doesn’t have a well known name attached to it then chances are you’re a person who is into fashion. The point is the person who is into fashion let the trends of the day define who they are. They bounce back & forth depending on which clothing item is hot at the moment thus letting trends dictate what they should wear.
Now style on the other hand is very different in many ways. A person of style could care less what everybody is wearing. They tend to go in the opposite direction of what everybody is wearing. Now I want to be clear I’m not suggesting that you have to wear mixed matched colors or a suit jacket inside out just to say you’re being different. All I am saying are you wearing something because it’s an expression of who you are? You make the clothes look good not the other way around. I am always impressed by a person who can shop at a department store like Ross & buy a few pieces of clothing & maybe some accessories & look like they spent hundreds of dollars on it. The person who does that normally feels a sense of accomplishment because they had to search & find that clothing item that truly depicts who they are as a person. You can always tell a person of style because everything they own looks like them. They can take a plain white t-shirt & dress themselves up & look like a million bucks. The person of style loves expensive things, but they won’t buy it if it contradicts their style. They love when people don’t believe they paid little to nothing for a certain piece of item they’re wearing. People with style are by no means cheap, they just spend according to what they like & not want the trends dictate.
The point of all this is to say whether you are a person of fashion or style. You’re daily habits in life will reflect it. If you tend to let trends dictate what you wear then most likely you are that way when it comes to every area of your life. And if you’re a person of style & buy things according to your personality then you will be that way in every area of your life too. You want to be the person who looks in the photo album at old pictures & say “I looked good back in those days”….Well until next time stay mentally fresh!

I thought it only made sense to compile a list together of a few of my favorite quotes that inspire me & that I truly try to live by. I started Vogink built on the idea of creating designs with wise quotes & famous sayings. I personally love quotes because they are so packed with advice that can really help you make great decisions in life. I am in no way suggesting that I haven’t made my fair share of mistakes. But when I find myself getting off track, I often revert back to some of these quotes to get a clearer perspective on things in my life. Some of the quotes below are funny & some are serious. And to some extent that’s how I try to live my life with balance by not being too serious or taking things to lightly. I always try to speak positive words to the people I interact with on a daily basis. So I couldn’t think of a better audience than my faithful readers & supporters of the Vogink brand to share my list of favorite quotes that inspire me.
